Position Summary:

The Spa Manager is responsible for day-to-day operation of the Spa and Fitness programming.  Hires the spa staff and ensures the department meets company goals within the established customer service and budgetary standards.  Sets standards and holds staff accountable for providing exceptional customer service in responsible areas

Job Duties:

  • Manage the associates and oversight of all Spa and Fitness Facilities (Spa, Fitness Centers, Lounges, Locker rooms, Retail, & support services).
  • Take the lead with onboarding new associates and oversight of the training program for all Spa staff.
  • The ability to maintain operating criteria/spa concepts and be responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all Spa related services in relation to assistance with policies, philosophy and objectives for the Spa.
  • Support the execution and develop SOP’s for marketing promotions and group events.
  • The ability to interview and select job applicants as well as supervise, discipline and give performance evaluations for Spa associates.
  • The ability to schedule staff and complete payroll records in accordance with budgeted guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure the Spa and Fitness facilities are well maintained and in proper working condition.
  • Bring creative thinking to elevating the guest experience and business strategies to drive a stronger financial performance.
  • The ability to be responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage and cost effective usage of all department related materials and assets, according to standards to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Manage the relationship and the execution of our 3rd Party fitness vendor to ensure all aspects of our fitness programming is to Resort standards.
  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • The ability to effectively integrate the Spa with the Hotel operations wherever possible and in accordance to the direction of Spa trends.
  • Must enjoy engaging with our guests to ensure the highest level of satisfaction and be able to resolve all guest concerns by exceeding their expectations.
  • Be an effective communicator and able to lead daily pre shifts and departmental meetings.
  • Must have financial acumen in order to manage the monthly and annual expenses. Will support the development of the Spa’s Financial forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Hands on approach with supporting the Operation by being able to do all of the support staff’s job functions.
  • The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by resort management and staff.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times and ensure the Spa associates maintain the same appearance and demeanor.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Education:

  • Demonstrate initiative, personal awareness, professionalism, positive attitude, and integrity; exercise a high quality of customer service and leadership in all areas of performance.
  • Project a professional image and demeanor.
  • Understand, apply, and comply with all company policies and procedures.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years Spa management experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment.
  • Experience in selecting, hiring, training and supervising department staff.
  • Google Apps experience is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers and staff in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and strong analytical and computer skills.
  • Strong analytical, data management and computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $72,600 - $81,400

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
