Position Summary:

Responsible for: Performing the primary responsibilities of the Safety & Security Manager for the resort, Oak Creek Country Club, and CRC Marinas. Maintain a safe and healthy environment by identifying and anticipating incidents and hazards and also work to control potential hazards. Oversee all aspects of the Covid 19 prevention protocols and reporting. Supervise and implement the Safety & Health procedures, educate staff members and enforce policies and procedures.  Interface with Corporate Risk Management in managing the Workers Compensation claims process.  Direct/Indirect Supervision of the Security Officers. Prompt response and follow up to all calls. Assist in the training of security officers; reviewing/approving of security reports and report follow up. Inventory control of all Security equipment and ensure all equipment is operating at peak levels. Supporting other departments; liaison with law enforcement, fire and EMS. Ensuring safety procedures are followed within the hotel and communicating effectively with all Guests and Employees; Emergency Procedures are consistently followed

Job Duties:

  • Oversee the security/safety operation of the resort.
  • Plans, communicates, and implements the company’s safety programs and policies to help reduce injuries and ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA and other applicable standards.
  • Conducts on-property training of managers and employees in safe work practices.
  • Provides training reports from the Learning Resource Center. (LRC)
  • Assists managers at all levels on how to effectively use the LRC to manage completion of employee safety training.Assist with injury investigations and conduct follow-up with managers to insure measures are taken to prevent recurrences.
  • Conducts on-site safety audits to ensure established safety programs and polices are effectively implemented.
  • Conduct detailed loss analysis and identify measures to mitigate identified trends.
  • Acquires and maintains an effective degree of safety knowledge through the use of outside resources such as workshops, training, and independent research.
  • Performs the function of IIPP Administrator for the Resort at Pelican Hill,  CRC Marinas, and Oak Creek Country Club.
  • Provides safety status reports to management.
  • Maintain excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize on-site risks and take appropriate action with firmness and tack.
  • Must be able to complete the company’s safety training programs and communicate their basic required elements to on-site associates.
  • Ability to effectively use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
  • Understand and follow protocol for the proper lines of communication.
  • Clear understanding of the Company mission and values.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Consistently providing excellent service to both the internal and external customer.
  • Providing support and feedback to Security Officers
  • Accurate and consistent record keeping.
  • Superior communication skills with guests and employees
  • Providing support to team members outside of the department.
  • Prevent or mitigate situations that could affect the brand
  • Quickly and thoroughly document and investigate all incidents that occur on resort property.
  • Effectively implement the policy and procedures affecting the resort.
  • Ensure that all Security Reports are reviewed, accurate and include all of the required information.
  • Remain calm and make sound decisions considering the guest and employee first.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Schedule is a flexible schedule with varying hours, and work days.  Some weekends, holidays are required.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience in related fields preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Safety/Security Manager preferably in the Hospitality Industry.
  • At least two or more years as a Security Supervisor in a Hotel/Resort/Hospital.
  • Law Enforcement or Military Experience.
  • Spanish as a second language

  • Must be highly analytical, inquisitive and detail oriented.

  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all required Irvine Company training programs.
  • Effectively implement the Policies & Procedures of Irvine Company, Resort at Pelican Hill and the Security Department
  • Provide support to the Director of Security including designing and implementing innovative Security and Safety Standards.
  • Possess a: Valid Driver’s License
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor
  • Computer, Excellent typing skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Basic understanding of Google Apps
  • Google Apps experience is a plus.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $63,900.00 - $80,400.00

 

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
