The Head Baker is responsible for production of all items needed as per baker production list. Must follow proper procedures and recipes to maintain consistency. Responsible for production of items needed banquets, events, functions and all food outlets. They must be available to work the night shift and must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of the company.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare all food items according to recipe standards.
  • Ensure consistency in preparation and presentation of items from the Pastry Kitchen.
  • Follow all standard sanitation and health department guidelines, including food handling and wearing gloves.
  • Keep all food rotated, dated and labeled.
  • Main a safe, organized and sanitary work area.
  • Maintain an inventory of items produced to ensure the proper amount is prepared and waste is limited.
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance of equipment and any accidents.
  • Follow all procedures when responding to any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Possess current health department certifications required to work in a kitchen.
  • Must have current California Food Handler Card or willingness and ability to obtain California Food Handling Card before first day of employment.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working as a Baker, preferably in a resort/hotel environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with management staff and other employees in a professional manner.

Compensation:

Base Pay Start Rate: $24.00
