Position Summary:

The Finance Manager will support the financial forecasting, budgeting, and month-end closing processes. The position reports to the Director of Finance and works on property to deliver insightful financial analyses and accurate reporting. The Finance Manager will be integral to sustaining daily operations at the Resort, including labor management and productivity, while also identifying areas of opportunity and efficiency. Automation of reporting and processes will be integral to this role.

Job Duties:

  • Assists Director of Finance in monthly forecasting and budget processes for the Resort, as well as daily oversight of revenue, labor management and operational expenses.
  • Prepares and compiles month-end financial package, including variance analysis, NOI bridge, segmented P&Ls
  • Effectively utilize our finance forecasting system and ensure accurate reporting and dashboards, including developing labor productivity and operating ratios to leverage a fully automated model
  • Collaborates with on-property operations and Corporate accounting to identify business needs and analytics opportunities
  • Manage labor productivity and efficiency in the Operations based on volume and anticipated detailed scheduling, review data on a weekly basis to identify opportunities and trends, and lead weekly meetings with Operations to discuss labor performance
  • Collaborates with Corporate Accounting and Accounts Receivable to review the AR aging, ensure timely deposits, review deferred revenue, and assess chargebacks.
  • Define Resort wide KPIs, metrics and reports as needed for the Director of Finance and operations to accelerate and improve Operations
  • Lead projects to identify opportunities for financial / operational improvements and modeling of future business strategies
  • Implement procedures and systems to enhance financial functions and efficiency
  • Reviews property invoices to ensure actuals are aligned with budgeted targets. Reconciles monthly checkbooks to forecast and communicates any overages or trends to operations
  • Continuous communication with vendors regarding open invoices, audit statements, and outstanding balances and researches in SAP if needed. Developing vendor relationships is crucial in this role.
  • Performs audits of vendors adherence to contractual terms and fees at the discretion of Director of Finance and works with AP if needed
  • Supports accountability and prepares and oversees action plans for Resorts internal audit results
  • Manages the security of inventory assets and adherence to asset management protocol and SOPs
  • Partners with the Retail team to manage the retail spend and analyze sales to drive strategy to maintain areasonable inventory balance
  • Participate in conducting periodic physical inventory counts as per established SOP’s; Spot check and verify the accuracy of physical inventory counts on a recurring cadence
  • Prepares daily and monthly cost of sales reports and communicate results effectively to management, including any concerns and opportunities
  • Implements controls to monitor efficiency, waste, and theft in all outlets
  • Check and verify transactions in daily operations as necessary including but not limited to:
  • ○ POS system voids, comps, discounts, transfers
  • ○ Review reasonableness of transactions and communicate concerns and opportunities in a timely manner
  • Continuously monitor internal controls and ensure leadership and staff adherence to all SOP’s

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

● BA or BS in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Math, or Engineering
● 5+ years in hospitality finance/accounting
● Understanding of financial and accounting concepts
● Excel proficiency
● Excellent and professional written/verbal communication
● Experience with cash management protocols and payroll processes
● Experience using a POS and/or inventory system is a plus
● Experience using an advanced procurement system is a plus

Other Qualifications - Preferred Experience

● Prior experience with project management and/or system implementation is a plus
