Position Summary:
The Finance & Investments group provides analysis, advisory, and decision support services for investment activities of the Apartments division. This position will be focused on major capital projects within the stabilized apartments portfolio, including capital repairs, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), and reinvestment.
Job Duties:
- Support the preparation of Investment Committee requests, project underwriting, and performance tracking for capital repair, ADUs, and reinvestment projects, including gathering data, updating analyses, writing formal investment memos, and formatting deliverables
- Coordinate with subject matter experts across Apartment Development and Operations teams to gather latest information and analysis assumptions; focus on facilitating highly collaborative processes and developing strong working relationships
- Preparation of key deliverables (e.g. financial exhibits, slide presentations, etc.) to support investment decisions, business reviews, and internal executive communication
- Manage the structure and continued improvement of core underwriting and data modeling tools; supplement with streamlined, repeatable processes
- Assist in the design and implementation of processes, systems, or software to provide foundational support for a robust, data driven environment
This position will not only interact with departments in the Apartments division, but will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to other finance teams and career paths across Irvine Company, such as:
- Real Estate Investment & Analytics – Responsible for review and advisory for all real estate investment activities across the Company
- Financial Planning – Responsible for financial planning, reporting, strategic analysis, and business intelligence initiatives
- Portfolio Management – Responsible for collaborating across the Apartments division to identify financial performance improvements through understanding, analyzing, and assessing the financial impact of operating activities, and recommending actionable operational change
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
- Strong Academic Background. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- Proven Analytic Capabilities. 2-3 years of relevant experience within corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, public accounting or commercial real estate; multifamily experience a plus. Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts required, with a focus on investment analysis and project performance metrics. Must have excellent Microsoft Excel and data modeling skills.
- Superior Communication Skills. This position will be expected to interact in a professional office environment with individuals at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will be able to develop credibility across the Company through quality of work product and interactions with key business partners. Experience preparing executive materials or presentations a plus.
- Self-Motivated Work Style. Must be comfortable taking initiative to learn and own work product and process. This position requires being highly organized and sharing the Company’s passion for attention to detail. Expectations include the highest standards of accuracy, ability to think creatively, and a willingness to embrace change and ambiguity.

Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $89,100.00 - $129,000.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
