Position Summary:

The Quantitative Operations Analyst will take a leading role in the maintenance and oversight of fund operational systems, including: interfacing with portfolio accounting and reporting systems, facilitating trade processing, taking ownership of investment account administration, developing and maintaining business intelligence reporting and analytical dashboards, supporting data warehousing efforts, and maintaining ETL data feeds/transfers. Other duties may include: helping to create, maintain, and update investment models, assisting in evaluating investment opportunities, leading special quantitative projects upon request, and assisting in the preparation of written investment reports and recommendations for senior management.

Job Duties:

  • Take full ownership of trade processing and management of fund operations; develop a robust understanding of fund structure, account administration and controls, data pipeline, and reporting models.
  • Communicate and work closely with third-party service providers and internal support groups to reconcile trades, cash flows, daily cash balances, and support GAAP & tax accounting entries; build systems to automate processes.
  • Use Excel and programming expertise to assist in transitioning legacy processes and adding new data integrations.
  • Use quantitative problem-solving skills to find and create efficiencies in models, databases, programs, and processes to improve speed and reliability of results.
  • Troubleshoot broken data feeds and resolve production issues under time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to streamline, scale, and automate workflows.
  • Support research, analysis, and valuation of investment alternatives.
  • Summarize results and present conclusions to senior management clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Prepare research, exhibits, and presentations for senior management meetings.
  • Complete high-priority ad hoc analyses upon request.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, finance, accounting, or a related field and/or equivalent experience. An advanced degree in an engineering, finance, or investment-related field is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar dashboard reporting solutions.
  • Experience using the Bloomberg terminal and Excel API.

Other: 

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel, including VBA programming experience.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting.
  • Basic understanding of equity & fixed income securities.
  • Understanding of investment/financial concepts - IRR, TWR, NPV, etc.
  • Positive attitude, with the ability to constructively collaborate with colleagues.
  • Highly dependable with utmost integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in all aspects of the investment field.
  • Candidate in the CFA program.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Understanding of statistical methods and risk exposure metrics.
  • Exposure to equity valuation, fixed income analysis, and/or corporate finance.
  • Exposure to derivatives or alternative investments.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve problems independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet firm deadlines.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $107,600.00 - $160,700.00

 

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
