Position Summary:

The QA Manager - Plan Quality will report to the Senior Director of Plan Quality for weekly tasks, scheduling, and plan reviews. The Manager will work with the Bluebeam Administrators to schedule and participate in regular owner plan reviews using current ICAD formatting standards and methodology. The QA Manager will provide comments for each milestone drawing set (from the design and consultant teams) and perform timely back-checks of previous milestone sets to ensure comments have been resolved. The QA Manager shall participate in periodic page turns with the design consultants and/or internal stakeholders to ensure commentary is communicated. QA Manager will be responsible for archiving all plan review documents and keeping QA/QC’s plan review comment dashboard current.

Job Duties:

  • Work with ICAD internal stakeholders and third-party peer reviewers to ensure quality plans are delivered from the design and consultant teams.
  • Assist in reviewing plans for compliance with ICAD BOD guidelines related to waterproofing. 
  • Review plans for general ADA compliance.        
  • Develop summaries with Google Sheets to track and ensure all owner commentary is addressed by the consultants. 
  • Review Plans at Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction. Document phases of the plans and specifications for compliance with apartment development basis of design related to waterproofing, sound attenuation, and ADA design criteria, and that the proper information is provided in the plan sets for constructability. 
  • Review design details related to sound attenuation and implementation into the construction documents.    
  • Prepare detailed and comprehensive written plan review comments for distribution.
  • Review RFIs weekly and incorporate issues related to best practices into QA’s running checklist.
  • Attend periodic Owner/Architect Construction meetings.
  • Conduct or participate in periodic site walks with the site team to review and observe construction methodology 
     

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • 5-10 years experience in construction (ideally wood-framed) or serve as a job captain in an architecture or engineering firm
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu21 and Studio Sessions.
  • General understanding of waterproofing practices and ADA codes.
  • Must be able to spend long, concentrated hours in front of a computer to review construction documents.
  • Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills. 
  • Must exhibit strong leadership qualities.  
  • Must be skilled in reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license; valid vehicle insurance
     

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $108,100.00 - $135,400.00

 

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
