Position Summary:

The Engineer III is responsible for conducting all dock and facility related maintenance and other services as needed to ensure a clean and safe environment and superior customer service.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain superior customer service approach in all activities
  • Promptly and enthusiastically follow up on all customer service and information requests to achieve and maintain the highest customer satisfaction
  • Maintain good relationships with customers and CRC team members
  • Maintain a professional appearance and business manner at all times
  • Have a good understanding of all CRC marina locations, amenities, benefits and slip availabilities
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and other services on all designated dock and landside areas as required to provide the best possible product, environment and customer service to the Marina slip guests
  • Properly document and communicate all customer service requests and observed needs for service or maintenance to the Maintenance Supervisor and implement immediate follow up
  • Implement and enforce marina rules and regulations consistently with all slip holders, guests and contractors
  • Properly document and report all incidents and accidents and report any non-compliance issues to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Check locks and gates to ensure proper operation
  • Monitor all access to docks to ensure a safe and secure environment for all slip holders and guests
  • Check and inspect all marina dock boxes and utility systems to ensure appropriate and safe usage and operation and document and report any deficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Implement all regular scheduled dock related maintenance projects as identified in the Preventative Maintenance and Facility Standards Program and as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Be familiar with the safe use and operation of all industry related hand and power tools including pumps, mowers, chain saws, hedgers, weed eaters, trimmers, jack hammers, drain cleaning machines, chemicals and other materials, etc..
  • Be familiar with environmental emergency and hazmat equipment and handling and disposal policies, regulations and procedures

Job Duties Continued:

Dockhand /Maintenance Technicians are required to perform maintenance assignments directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Must be able to swim
  • Concrete and wood dock deck cleaning and repairs including maintenance to flotation, rub rail, cleats and other dock components
  • Plumbing repairs for PVC, copper, and ABS pipe up to 2” in diameter
  • Painting, patching and related painting preparation work, working at an acceptable pace and high quality without causing damage or a negative impact on the environment
  • Remove flotsam and jetsam from marina waterways as needed
  • High and low voltage electrical service installation and repairs for the use of shore-power, 110v outlets, circuit breakers and related electrical components commonly found in marina operations including lighting and lighting controls
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and other services on all designated landscape areas including all lawns, flowers, landscape beds, weeds, trees, and shrubs
  • Knowledge in the safe use of fertilizers and weed control chemicals and proper care of all landscape materials, including plants, flowers, trees and shrubs
  • Maintain all, hose bibs, irrigation, and drainage systems and report any deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor
  • Implement all regular scheduled landscape related maintenance projects as identified in the Preventative Maintenance and Facility Standards Program and as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Police docks, parking lots, walkways, garden beds and other facilities and remove all trash and debris
  • Conduct daily cleaning routine on all restrooms, offices and other assigned areas Ensure that all restrooms are properly stocked with appropriate paper and sanitary supplies
  • Remove all trash from dock and building receptacles daily.
  • Conduct weekly truck safety, fuel and fluid level inspections on Maintenance Vehicle and report any deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor for repairs
  • Boat handling skills and knowledge
  • Able to assist customers and employees with boating needs and skills
  • Must have valid California Drivers License and a good driving record
  • Conduct all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Dockmaster and General Manager

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • 1-3 years of engineering/maintenance experience required. Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a resort/hotel environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of maintenance methods and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to with management staff and other employees in a professional manner.

Compensation:

Base Pay Start Rate: $24.00
