Position Summary:
The Engineering Department is responsible for maintaining the well-being of the hotel. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the primary purpose of the Building Engineer II is to assist with upholding the integrity of hotel operations through HVAC maintenance, repairing facilities, and participating in special projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
- Provide service and repairs as outlined in the Technical Skills List, depending on grade level, for electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC, refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating problems.
- Provide electric repair and maintenance to motors, starters, breakers and associated equipment throughout the entire building.
- Maintain and revamp all lamps in the hotel, including socket repair and replacement.
- Install electrical wiring for renovations, electrical outlet additions, motors and associated equipment.
- Provide electrical set-ups for exhibits and conventions including maintaining electrical equipment for exhibits.
- Provide preventative maintenance of all electrical equipment and updating of appropriate logs.
- Clean all stations in Engineering and maintain a neat and organized department.
- Adjust, repair and clean televisions.
- Respond to all guest complaints regarding the maintenance of their room or public area in a timely manner.
- Perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
- Assist on all plumbing stoppages in the building.
- Repair an assortment of items brought to the shop by other departments.
- Clean grease traps, filters and drains as necessary.
- Assist engineers on major shutdowns for repairs.
- Assist guests with special requests such as opening luggage when keys are lost.
- Maintain logs for all work performed while on duty.
- Install or relocate any additional or existing equipment when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Years of Relevant Work Experience:

Valid California driver’s license; Maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law. (This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company’s MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position.)
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
- 4+ years experience in hotel room calls with electrical systems, experience in plumbing fixture removal and placement.
- 4+ years experience in ice machine repair.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repair of 120, 277 and 24 volt electrical systems.
- A desire to learn and take ownership of responsibilities
- Good communication and follow-up skills.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude
- Google Apps experience a plus.
Compensation:
Base Pay Start Rate: $28.00
