Position Summary:

The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for designing and implementing effective revenue management systems, standards and practices to control room inventories for the Resort. In addition, participate in strategic resort marketing plans by forecasting room occupancy and revenues.

Job Duties:

  • The Director of Revenue Management designs and implements effective revenue management systems, standards, and practices to control room inventories for the resort.
  • Participates in strategic resort marketing plans by forecasting room occupancy and revenues.
  • Drive market share and revenue performance through proper pricing and mix management.
  • Develop an overall pricing strategy to include all market segments and distribution channels.
  • Effectively manage inventory and pricing strategy in all distribution channels including branded web, third-party sites, Central Reservation Office (CRO), and Global Distribution System (GDS). Focus on lowering distribution costs and driving room nights to the branded web.
  • Closely monitor competitive pricing and understand the impact of relative pricing decisions on property performance.
  • Report key strategies that support driving top-line revenues to leadership.
  • Report out Weekly Performance Report on a weekly basis to analyze key drivers to market share performance and understand the overall effectiveness of strategies.

Job Duties Continued:

  • Complete understanding and effective execution of our current and new RM tools. Currently includes Opera, iHotelier, Rate360, D360, Hotelligence, Channel Reports, Pace reports, and any new tools or reports developed.
  • Lead the properties’ Weekly Revenue Management Meeting and attend Daily Business Review Meeting and Sales Strategy Meeting.
  • Produce an accurate forecast on a weekly and monthly basis (frequency determined by resort Director of Finance and Director of Sales & Marketing) for the resort.
  • Validate comp set RevPAR forecast by month to ensure effective soft spot calendar planning.
  • Develop and update the Strategic Sales Plan with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Maintains proper reporting on daily, weekly and monthly reports used to measure productivity and analyze necessary data required by leadership. In addition, audit and monitor all pricing integrity for packages, negotiated rates and value-added inclusions while reconciling daily productivity for sales, catering and convention services personnel. Accurately generate and process all reports that are communicated internally and to corporate offices as scheduled or requested.
  • Control room and rate availability in accordance with established guidelines to maximize occupancy and revenue.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field. 
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Revenue Management. 
  • Proficient in finance-related computer programs, including Excel, and Google applications. 
  • Excellent quantitative skills.
  • Previous experience with resort property management systems, especially Opera.
  • Proven record of developing marketing programs utilizing testing and strategy analysis to ensure program success.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to guide employees toward goal achievement.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, management and computer skills.
