Position Summary:

The Capital Projects Manager, is a part of the Irvine Company Resorts Property support team that serves the Irvine Company Resort Properties.  You will partner and support senior leaders in the Resorts division as it relates to capital projects.  Your core responsibilities will be to assist in executing capital projects, supporting the capital planning process, and managing vendors.

Job Duties:

 

Oversees Maintenance CapEx projects, to include:

  • Provides input into planning based on asset need
  • Conducts CapEx property walks
  • Assists in prioritizing CapEx projects
  • Creates detailed and accurate project plans and timing
  • Works with the resort properties to minimize or mitigate operational impacts
  • Assists the Directors of Engineering to ensure alignment and integration of CapEx work with other projects
  • Assists in facilitating project process management (e.g. submitting CDMSA’s, DSCs, DPA’s, etc.)
  • Ensures compliance throughout the process
  • Ensures the project stays on budget, according to scope, and within budget
  • Manages and executes project work
  • Meets with contractors and designers as needed to ensure projects are executed properly
  • Ensures work performed is in alignment with Irvine brand; accountable to quality control and alignment with standards

 

Maximize value received for expense spend:

  • Seek innovative ways to perform work better, faster, and/or cheaper
  • Utilize general contractors if needed

 

Support of capital project financials:

  • Assist to ensure accurate forecasting
  • Enter and maintain relevant information in the IC CapEx database
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years experience in hospitality real estate at the management level 
  • 3 years of experience managing people
  • Previous experience in landscaping and horticulture a plus
  • Experience developing processes 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, create consensus, and engage cross-departmental teams 
  • Ability to oversee and provide operational guidance and input to a construction team
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and strong leadership skills
  • Strong process development and training skills
  • Demonstrates attention to detail in both construction and customer experience/satisfaction issues
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong Customer Service background with experience maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment preferred
  • PMP preferred
  • Efficiency with Google Mail, Drive, Docs and Sheets a plus
