Position Summary:
The Data Analyst, Capital Projects role is focused on supporting the Company through organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and effectively sharing data from our existing portfolio of assets to help anticipate and plan for capital investment projects. This role within the Capital Projects team will collaborate with key stakeholders across several departments to manage the data analytics process, including coordination with project management, asset management, maintenance, and operations.
Job Duties:
- Analyze operational, financial, and property condition data across our multifamily portfolio to identify trends and opportunities for capital investment.
- Collaborate closely with the Capital Projects team to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Develop predictive models to anticipate future capital needs and support long-term investment planning.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that track capital expenditures, project timelines, and budget performance.
- Identify and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure asset performance and inform capital project planning.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making around asset improvement, renovation projects, and capital preservation.
- Clean, validate, and structure large datasets from multiple sources to ensure accurate and reliable insights.
- Prepare presentations and reports for stakeholders, summarizing key findings and insights to guide investment decisions.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., in Data Analytics, SQL) are a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within real estate or capital-intensive industries.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar software.
- Experience in identifying and implementing data-driven KPIs within a real estate or capital projects context.
Other:
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis, forecasting, and predictive modeling.
- Familiarity with real estate financial metrics, such as ROI, IRR, and Cap Rate, and an understanding of multifamily asset management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must have well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish highly functional relationships with diverse personalities both within and outside the company
- Convey confidence and maintain composure in urgent and crucial situations
- Embrace conflicts by seeing them as opportunities by acting collaboratively to achieve optimal outcomes
- Ensure the delivery of an outstanding internal/external customer experience
- Accurately anticipate the complexity and resource requirements of projects/tasks then proactively anticipate and adjust for problems
- Use sound logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions in a timely manner
- Organized and capable of managing tasks on multiple, concurrent projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of capital project management processes and lifecycles within multifamily.
- Familiarity with asset management software and real estate databases.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $80,200.00 - $102,300.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
