Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the core platforms required to run critical corporate business functions, such as the overall general ledger, accounts receivables and payables, purchase orders, fixed assets management, HRIS and payroll.  Supports a range of custom and package software applications that feeds upstream/downstream data to financials and ensures the company can run payroll, track capital, manage energy consumption and manage cash liquidity applications. 


This is a leadership facing role that will engage with senior leaders across the Finance and HR organizations as well as other executives at Irvine Company. Understanding the key business drivers and partnering with each of the transformation leaders will be critical to the success of this role. Developing a roadmap that leverages the existing assets and driving next generation technology options is important to the transformational efforts.


This position will also be focused on building a high performance team and finding opportunities to enhance the team’s service delivery capability to drive value realization, internal efficiencies and customer engagement.  He/she will lead the team to deploy solutions to increase productivity and operational efficiencies through automation, self service, optimization and technology adoption.

Job Duties:
  • Leverage deep understanding of Corporate technology solutions and cross functional relationships to effectively balance tactical needs with strategic objectives that drive high-impact operational efficiencies.
  • Partner with business units and technology stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies that generate savings, optimize total cost of ownership, improve supplier performance, and reduce risk within the category.
  • Partner with HR/Payroll towards continuous improvement in leveraging supporting technology, including driving process automation for HR and Payroll workflows.
  • Ensure applications are governed and controlled properly. Partnering with Audit to manage and maintain compliance and best practices for governance of applications processes and controls.
  • Foster innovation within the organization to create new solutions that enable business results and improve effectiveness of corporate application delivery, which includes collaboration with business partners to identify and define automations and efficiencies through technology.
  • Collaborate with IT peers and teams across functions such as analytics, networking, integrations and customer applications, etc.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
  • 15+ years of technology leadership experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong Finance acumen (Month/Quarter/Year Close Process, BPC, Revenue Recognition, SAP ERP/FICO, Treasury Risk Management, Cash Management, Tax, Product Costing/Variance management)
  • An understanding of the dependencies and relationships between various HRIS modules such as Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance, as well as integration points with non-HRMS modules.
  • Executive level presentation skills that allows individuals to build and sell ideas to the business based on data driven details and prior hands on experience. Expertise working across a complex organization to create needed alignment and harness relationships and sphere of influence.
  • Experience working closely with senior executives, understanding priorities, what information is needed to support decisions and confident in delivering presentations and advisement to senior leaders
  • Excellent communication, relationship and interpersonal skills with the ability to “tell the story” of the data and insight. This includes a strong ability to communicate with IT users and business leaders to understand requirements, expectations and value measures.
  • Ability to lead others through ambiguity and change. The right candidate would be able to see the possibilities and help others see it as well.
  • Bachelor degree required/Advanced degree preferred
