Position Summary:

The Staff Attorney II will provide day-to-day support to Irvine Company Apartment Communities onsite property management teams regarding landlord-tenant issues. The position will be based in the Company’s 131 Theory Campus.

Job Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to community management personnel on a broad range of landlord-tenant and operational issues.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining residential lease packet and related documents.
  • Assist with drafting and maintaining training materials. 
  • Research critical legal issues and provide practical, balanced recommendations.
  • Review subpoenas and prepare appropriate responses.
  • Prepare, issue, maintain and release litigation holds.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to California Bar.
  • Seeking 1 to 3 years of experience as a licensed attorney; the ideal candidate will have experience in landlord-tenant, fair housing, or related areas of law.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple matters simultaneously, communicate with internal clients and deliver timely results.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently as well as participate in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Tech-savvy professional is a must - strong computer proficiency in G Suite, familiarity with Legal Tracker preferred.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and embrace new work-based technologies that are adopted by the Company from time to time.
  • This is an in person opportunity - remote work is not available for this position.
     

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $113,200.00 - $150,800.00

 

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
