Position Summary:

The Senior Lead Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day general and administrative accounting operations within the Financial Services department including preparation of key financial records, ensuring accurate and timely journal entries for month-end close, ongoing reconciliations, and financial reporting, while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Job Duties:

  • Month-End and Year-End Close:
    • Prepare general and administrative (e.g., payroll-related, Company-wide allocations, etc.) journal entries and supporting details for senior management review, ensuring timely and accurate closing of the books.
    • Perform ongoing reconciliations between various financial systems.
    • Confirm postings and proactively identify and resolve issues.
    • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial entries and reporting.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare management financial reporting packages.
    • Prepare monthly and annual variance analyses and explanations.
    • Prepare, review, and analyze key metrics and trends to provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
    • Work with key stakeholders and assist with developing the annual budget and ongoing forecasts.
    • Analyze financial data and ensure financial statements and reports are accurate, complete, and prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Other:
    • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, and serve as liaison to external auditors.
    • Maintain internal controls and ongoing focus on improving accounting processes to safeguard Company assets.
    • Work closely with other departments to support overall business goals and objectives.
    • Continuously identify areas within the department for increased efficiency and process enhancements.
    • Leverage accounting software, systems, and tools to optimize processes and drive efficient financial management.
       

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. 

Other: 

  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
  • Strong financial modeling skills utilizing Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Collaborative mindset with prior experience working on a team project/initiative.
  • Proficient in SAP accounting software a plus.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $96,500.00 - $122,200.00

 

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
