Position Summary:

The Mobile Application Architect‎ plays a critical role in leading and implementing mobile applications solutions at scale. This position requires taking responsibility for robust customer-facing applications encompassing complex business requirements and technology constraints. The ideal candidate should be passionate about user experiences and have deep technical expertise to ensure the success of various projects.

As a leader in the space, you will be collaborating with other architects, software engineers, product managers, and QA teams to build bug-free best-in-class solutions to impact our business.
 

Job Duties:

  • Act as a point person, technical leader, and problem solver on various upcoming digital applications or on those already in production.
  • Provide guidance and operate as a trusted advisor for technical and design projects.
  • Help build and enhance React Native and Swift applications while also maintaining custom backend integrations in Node.js.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship features.
  • Participate in creating clear and concise documentation for company applications and custom-built solutions.
  • Give estimates for enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to impact the company.
  • Translate customer experiences into clearly defined product requirements.
  • Align external agencies with project needs.
  • Help create and maintain logically sequenced roadmaps.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Education:

  • BS or equivalent experience

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in delivering mobile applications 
  • Experience writing/maintaining unit, functional, and integration tests
  • Experience building/consuming RESTful APIs
  • Experience writing modern and reusable code (DRY, SOLID, Clean Architecture)
  • Experience contributing and creating roadmaps

 

Special Experience Desired:

  • Experience with native mobile development, such as Swift/iOS or Android is a big plus
  • Experience with Node.js and building/using custom APIs
  • Designer experience, including working with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with TypeScript
  • Familiarity with GraphQL
  • Familiarity with Next.js

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise with React Native / Redux, including:
    • Building and maintaining custom components
    • Utilizing open-source libraries
    • Knowing when to build your own versus using a 3rd party library
    • Working with external services
  • Knowledge of application build processes for iOS/Android
  • Proficient with GIT
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of mobile user experience best practices and design
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong debugging skills with the ability to reach out and work with peers to solve complex problems
  • Stay up to date on the latest mobile application best practices
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical resources and business stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively document business processes and apply technology to optimize and automate processes
  • Understanding of security and governance best practices for large enterprises.
  • Strong desire to learn new and complex technologies
