Sr. Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist($37.36)

Position Summary:
Responsible for the day to day compliance needs of the communities within the assigned portfolio such as move-in certifications and annual re-certifications for the affordable housing program. In addition, provides training, understanding of the regulatory agreements, process improvements, and reporting to key stakeholders.
Job Duties:
- Completes move-in certifications for Below Market Rent (BMR) units confirming qualifications and denials for the affordable housing program.
- Processes annual re-certifications in a timely manner based upon the original move-in certification date.
- Sends all resident communication regarding recertification including reminders and missing documentation.
- Maintains copies of all certifications and related documents.
- Updates records in the Affordable Automation Application to ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Works with the on-site team and legal on any compliance related issues including terminations of tenancy.
- Assists the on-site team, Portfolio Management, and Account Management Services (AMS) on lease renewals and offers.
- Updates the Income & Rent Limits annually based on the release of new Area Median Income (AMI) limits.
- Tracks all BMR Salesforce cases for re-certification.
- Communicates with the on-site team regarding any updates or policy changes.
Senior Responsibilities:
- Provides training within the affordable department and the on-site teams/corporate teams including CLC and Home Finding.
- General understanding of the Regulatory Agreements and their requirements.
- Partners with Legal to confirm all requirements are implemented and followed.
- Writes policies and ensures they are updated with current information.
- Submits reporting to key stakeholders and city officials.
- Responsible for all Affordable Program Lease-Ups.
- Manages projects within the affordable housing program such as reinvestment/relocation.
- Oversees the affordable program expirations and conversions.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
Education & Experience:
- High school or equivalent.
- three to five years of file processing skills.
- Minimum two years Affordable Housing experiences.
- Required compliance designation: Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), scoring at 80% or above.
Other:
- Valid driver’s license; valid vehicle insurance.
- This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company's MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Frequent standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting objects of up to 20 pounds.
- Knowledge in Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce and OneSite.
- Ability to organize, establish priorities and manage multiple priorities with attention to speed, detail and quality.
- Occasional travel required.
- Regular, consistent and timely attendance is required (non-exempt).
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), scoring at 80% or above or Certified Voucher Specialist (CVS). The CVS applies to Specialists that directly oversee Section 8 voucher program. Multiple certifications are preferable.

Base Pay Start Rate: $37.36
