Position Summary:

This position is responsible to network with potential guests to solicit business, manage existing accounts, and work to maintain a loyal customer base.   Provide exceptional customer service while striving to achieve or exceed sales goals and ensure that sales activities/ bookings are focused to yield maximum profitability.  Mentor assigned staff to meet all standards, goals, and key initiatives. 


Event size: Any event requiring guest rooms with meeting space; quantity specifications may vary depending on hotel.

Job Duties:
  • Actively solicit business for meetings and events that require guest rooms with meeting space.
  • Identify new ways to expand existing client base; source prospective leads and convert into bookings.
  • Negotiate hotel services with guests to achieve maximum profitability while meeting the guests’ needs.
  • Synergize with other departments to ensure quality to the guest and/or group satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve challenges regarding bookings; inform Director of unusual circumstances.
  • Maintain good relationship with new and existing clients in order to encourage repeat bookings.
  • Analyze and report on sales and activities in relation to business plan.
  • Plan and execute sales meetings.
  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

7+ years of experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Ability to work non-traditional business hours and travel as needed
