Senior Director, Cloud Infrastructure

Position Summary:
The Sr. Director of Cloud Infrastructure is responsible for the planning, design, architecture and ongoing support of our on-prem and Cloud infrastructure. This includes the corporate data center, data center facilities, servers, storage, disaster recovery and system administration. It also includes the development and execution of a cloud migration strategy.
The right candidates will possess a combination of very strong technical competencies, strong business acumen, excellent budgeting and planning skills and a proven track record leading high-performance teams. Attention to detail is critical.
Job Duties:
- Develop and effectively manage a 5-year planning budget for capital expenditures and an annual zero-based operational budget.
- Train and mentor team (on-site and offshore) to ensure the reliability, availability and security of our computing environment, while promoting individual growth and career development.
- Define infrastructure strategies and develop appropriate roadmaps to ensure our infrastructure is capable of meeting key business and technology objectives.
- Participate in the Architecture Committee as an infrastructure subject matter expert.
- Build and maintain relationships with IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs, ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, and responding with agility to changing business priorities.
- Work closely with the VP of Security (CISO) to ensure the security of our infrastructure.
- Remain current with emerging technology and its applicability to our business. Conduct research and develop a culture of innovation and exploration.
- Oversee cloud and on-premise computing systems. Ensure operational procedures (runbooks) are properly documented and maintained.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring of systems and ensure service level agreements are maintained. Provide appropriate analytics.
- Ensure systems are backed-up or replicated and we are well prepared to recover systems following a disaster event.
- Interface with application teams to ensure application availability and data integrity.
- Analyze infrastructure Service Desk ticket information and seek continuous improvement opportunities.
- Take point on urgent or complex issues, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and root cause is determined. Act as an escalation point for the infrastructure team.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems management, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of infrastructure technology leadership, 15+ years of IT experience.
- Experience with Ruckus, Google (GCP and G-Suite), Palo Alto, RingCentral, Cisco and Contact Centers.
- Extensive knowledge of running and maintaining cloud-based and hybrid services, as well as compute, storage, and databases.
- Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments.
- Extensive knowledge managing outsourced service providers.
- Exceptional understanding of ITIL frameworks and lean principles.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design, and development.
- Experience in DevOps and DevSecOps; a proven track record of leading a team transformation.
- Experience with creating and executing disaster recovery plans.
- Experience with managing Carrier relationships and negotiating Carrier contracts.
- Great problem solver and a high level of attention to detail.
- Exceptional leadership skills; ability to develop and communicate an infrastructure vision that inspires and motivates staff.
- Effective influencing and negotiating skills when working with vendors.
- Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.
- Expertise in budget planning and financial management.
- Deep understanding of current and emerging cloud-based technologies, including how other enterprises are employing them.
- Success in leveraging traditional best practices, such as IT service management practices based on ITIL, as well as DevOps that are optimized for agility.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic people plan, ensuring that employees are highly engaged and motivated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders and business concepts to the infrastructure team.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $177,400.00 - $237,600.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
