Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Brand Strategy will provide leadership in developing, refining, and assessing our brand strategy in a rapidly evolving industry. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this leadership position oversees core marketing functions including brand management, content development, messaging strategy, creative direction, internal communications, and public relations to uphold our brand's integrity and maximize market impact. The role requires a strategic B2B marketing leader who can further elevate our premium brand while driving business results through sophisticated brand strategies and positioning.
Job Duties:
- Brand Strategy Development and Execution: Develop, refine, and continuously assess the overarching Office Properties brand strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and market opportunities. Translate the brand strategy into actionable plans and initiatives.
- Brand Positioning & Messaging: Lead the development of compelling and targeted content strategies and messaging frameworks that resonate with our varied audiences and effectively communicate our value proposition including leveraging customer personas and segments in alignment with product segmentation
- Creative Direction: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the creative development process, ensuring marketing materials and campaigns align with brand standards and effectively convey our brand image.
- Brand Experience: Collaborate with Leasing and Operations to ensure brand messaging and values are consistently reflected throughout the customer journey, contributing to a premium and seamless experience that fosters long-term relationships and brand loyalty. This involves understanding touchpoints, identifying opportunities for brand reinforcement, and ensuring a cohesive experience.
- Public Relations: Lead the development and execution of impactful public relations strategies to elevate brand visibility and credibility through compelling storytelling – including showcasing successful customer outcomes, working closely with Corporate Affairs to ensure alignment on overall messaging and approach.
- Internal Communications: Develop and execute internal communication strategies to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and brand ambassadors. Foster a strong understanding and appreciation of the brand internally.
- Synergy & Partnerships: Coordinate with marketing peers across the company to identify impactful synergy opportunities
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with peers across the office marketing team (including Portfolio Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Insights & Analytics) to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to all marketing initiatives, maximizing the value and impact of the Irvine Company brand across all touchpoints and audiences.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, leasing, asset management, design, operations, and executive leadership, to ensure brand alignment and support
- Team Leadership and Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience; MBA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in B2B marketing roles with demonstrated success in brand strategy development and implementation
- Background working with luxury brands, premium B2B service, or commercial real estate
- Proven track record developing and executing comprehensive brand strategies that drive business growth
- Demonstrated expertise in creating compelling B2B messaging frameworks and positioning strategies
- Experience in translating market insights and product/service differentiators into compelling brand positioning and messaging strategies.
- Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Leasing, Operations, etc) to ensure brand alignment and a consistent brand experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and implementing audience segmentation frameworks, including the creation and application of actionable customer personas.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform brand strategy and measure campaign effectiveness.
- Proven success in developing PR strategies that enhance brand visibility and market position
- Strong understanding of integrated marketing communications and the ability to provide strategic creative direction across various marketing channels.
- Experience in data-driven marketing with ability to leverage insights for brand optimization
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present effectively to executives
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $172,200.00 - $218,000.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
