Position Summary:

Ideal candidate is a motivated individual who seeks an opportunity in a dynamic, team-based work environment. As part of the Internal Audit team, you will have the opportunity to work on high impact, high exposure audits and consultative projects associated with various aspects of the business. The position provides the opportunity to interact with a wide array of company staff across the organization, including Senior Management. Travel requirements are minimal.  The position assists in ensuring that compliance is maintained with the Company’s policies and procedures and other special/consultative projects as required. This position assists in the audit areas of predefined risk and prepares reports on control weaknesses and audit findings accordingly.

Job Duties:

  • Perform financial and operational reviews over the various company activities, processes and controls with the aim to improve internal controls and increasing operational effectiveness.
  • Work alongside operational and financial teams with the need to add value to the company by advising on risk management practices and the appropriateness of controls.
  • Apprises management of control weaknesses, fraud instances, operational weaknesses, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Performs audit procedures, identifies/defines issues, develops criteria, analyzes evidence, and documents processes and procedures.
  • Completes scheduled audits in a timely manner.
  • Supervises and trains staff as required.
  • Conducts interviews, reviews documents, composes summary memos and prepares work papers.
  • Completes audit fieldwork established by the audit program, creates and maintains accurate fieldwork documentation, responses and reports.
  • Communicates or assists in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects effectively via written reports and oral presentations to management.
  • Develops and maintains productive client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
  • Pursues professional development, including internal training, and shares with co-workers.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
  • Candidate must be a reliable, independent worker and be able to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Real estate and accounting experience is a plus.
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, etc.) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with knowledge of management principles and preferred business practices.
  • Must be computer literate on Windows-based programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to exercise proficient discretion when handling confidential, sensitive or personal information during audits.
