Project Manager, Environmental Health & Safety ($98,300.00-$124,200.00)

Position Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Company adheres to all federal, state and local environmental regulations by conducting environmental compliance audits, implementing programs, permitting, and remedial efforts. Associates must stay updated with current environmental laws and regulations to understand the impact to the Company’s operations.
Job Duties:
- Provide continuous tracking and communication to the onsite team through all levels of the environmental compliance process for Water quality management, Air quality management, Hazardous material (HMBP), Legionella, Remediation, SPCC, mold, lead based paint, waste management and Asbestos
- Implementation of Portfolio wide tracking system
- Reporting, trending, and analytics, and budget forecasting
- Management of external environmental consultants to ensure compliance and proactively develop strategies to stay ahead of regulation changes.
- Investigate and manage environmental incidents such as the release of chemicals, fumes, vapors, hazardous materials/substances, mold, waste materials, or medical infectious or pathological waste.
- Provide support to onsite teams in regard to resident management when handling mold situations, timing of displacement, etc.
- Liaison to Risk Management and Legal for pollution claims.
- Collaborate with leadership on EHS projects to ensure all compliance, quality, time, cost, and risk mitigation conditions have been met. Specifically, work with internal departments to ensure the completion of projects that meet Irvine Company standards. Ensure property utilization and oversight of vendors at multiple projects running concurrently.
- Participate in the development of training modules for maintenance service teams and on-site community teams.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to develop, implement and improve compliance programs such as Asbestos, Legionella, Remediation, SPCC, air emission, wastewater, and waste management.
- Ability to interface with regulatory bodies such as CUPA, DTSC, RWQCB, AQMD, EPA, Air Districts, etc.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Three to five years of environmental compliance management experience or related field
- Demonstrates ability to develop and implement projects.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Must be computer literate with an eye for detail and strong organization skills.
- Valid California driver’s license; Maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law. (This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company’s MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position.)
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Multilingual ability is a plus.
- Occasional travel required.
- 16-hour AHERA O&M training-if coordinating asbestos surveys and abatement
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $98,300.00 - $124,200.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
