Position Summary:

Designer with a passion for corporate & hospitality interiors that create workplaces that help people succeed. Candidate must have strong project management and leadership skills as well as the ability to act in the owner’s best interest. Candidate will collaborate with internal & external design teams and the Irvine Companies extended real estate team on a variety of dynamic commercial and hospitality-focused projects across our vast portfolio.

Job Duties:

  • Executes and coordinates overall project design scope. Strong ability to lead vendors and communicate with IC internal teams. Strategize and assist with project delivery and presentation.
  • Assist with FF&E design packages for building core lobbies and amenity spaces. Strong current knowledge of commercial and retail furniture, finishes and equipment. Coordinate furniture specifications, proposals, contracts, and vendor quotes for graphics, artwork, signage, plants, and accessories.
  • Assist with execution of space plans, pricing plans, millwork elevations and artwork elevations. 
  • Ability to coordinate with outside consultants on drawing deliverables.
  • Assist with maintaining project status reports and budget trackers. Maintain project files and folders throughout a project's life cycle and document project photos while on site. 
  • Review submittals, track orders, payment and delivery. Be a knowledge expert for product options and budgetary restrictions.
  • Support internal teams by coordinating finish palettes and ordering samples. Prepare furniture and finish concepts and assemble design presentations.
  • Implement on-site field coordination on a project-by-project basis, interfacing with all members of the project team. Attend project meetings, punch walks and follow up on project completion.
  • Respond to daily requests from Operations teams for furniture repairs.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in interior design.
     

Other: 

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Google Workspace, Bluebeam.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing design work and creative abilities, including sketches, renderings, or completed projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and present ideas.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines. Multi-tasking is imperative.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, trends, and client needs in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrate initiative, passion for design, personal awareness, professionalism, positive attitude and a high level of integrity.
  • Food and beverage project experience is a plus. 
     

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $96,800.00 - $126,700.00

 

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
