Position Summary:

Provide documentation support and lease transaction coordination for four real estate attorneys in support of the Retail Division portfolio.

Job Duties:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing, reviewing and revising commercial retail leases, amendments, and related documents.  
  • Working with other team members, act as the focal point person to request, collect and integrate necessary deal term specifics required for document completion
  • Coordinate lease execution process in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing, reviewing, and revising contracts and related documents in connection with the Retail Division’s operations.
  • Working with the leasing and property management teams to expedite the completion of Retail lease documents and drafts and other documentation.
  • Track documentation progress and status using Company computer-based programs and resources.
  • Coordinate, organize and track leasing and other Retail Legal activity.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate well and establish strong relationships with internal clients
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced transactional environment
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish attorney and department projects
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Not less than 8 years of experience drafting, handling, managing and administering commercial retail real estate transactions
  • Experience with “top tier” shopping center retail leasing preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certification preferred
  • Substantial experience in creating, drafting and updating multiple versions of legal documents, including the generation and use of “redline” versions
  • Computer literacy in Legal Tracker, iManage, Salesforce, Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred (and obtaining proficiency will be essential)
  • Experience with or strong aptitude and comfort with a variety of specialized computer programs and systems
  • Team-centric mentality – works well and collaborates well with others in a team environment
  • Strong, detail-oriented writing and editing skills
  • Practical and results-oriented approach coupled with sound judgment
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Desire for continuous learning and new challenges
