Position Summary:

Employment is in connection with a Project, which is anticipated to end on or around 12 months from the start date. 

The Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate completion of Below Market Rate (BMR) certifications, file audits and reporting.

Job Duties:


  • Receive, Process, and submit compliance paperwork on each resident at Move In/Out and/or Recertification. 
  • Prepare written communications and/or verbally interact with our residents, applicants and Site Teams involving:  
    • 1. Compliance Questions 2. Approvals and denials 3. Additional information needed 4. Upcoming recertification  
  • Monthly, Quarterly and Annual BMR Reporting.
  • Generate and send out notifications.  
  • Reconcile discrepancies in rent calculations with Residents. 
  • Respond to all stakeholder inquiries and concerns timely. 
  • Strive to represent the quality of our product. You will be the initial contact between the public and the company.  • Maintain high occupancy levels by demonstrating the value in our community to prospective residents.  
  • Prepare Tenant Income Certification (TIC) documents and related paperwork and reporting required. 
  • Ensure accuracy on all files. 
  • Collaborate with team members, clearly communicate and be proactive in assisting your team. 
  • Promote positive and proactive resident relations by working to make the living experience, particularly the first and last  impressions, of the highest quality.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Three to five years of file processing skills  
  • Proficient math skills  
  • Strong organizational skills  & Time Management skills
  • Knowledge in Google software and Affordable Housing software (ex: Yardi, OneSite, etc.)  
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Required - Relevant Compliance Designations: Rent Calculation
  • Preferred - Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS)
