Position Summary:

The Corporate Accountant will primarily support processing, analysis and reporting associated with the accurate capitalization of fixed assets, including the Company's real estate assets, and related monthly financial close activities. This role will work closely with operating division (i.e., Office, Apartment, Retail and Resorts) and Corporate group accountants and business partners, as well as, our business process outsource team to ensure policy compliance.  This is an opportunity for a high performing individual who is detail-oriented, disciplined and self-motivated.
 

Job Duties:

  • Review Office, Apartment, Retail and Resort division asset submission reports and Corporate Project assets to ensure information to be processed is in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Process and maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger, including: acquisitions, additions, adjustments, master data change, transfers, dispositions and depreciation postings.
  • Review expense general ledger account coding of invoices for capitalization policy compliance and process reclassification entries, as needed.
  • Assist with fixed asset system month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Review fixed asset reports and coordinate distribution to all division contacts.
  • Perform monthly fixed asset reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparation of audit schedules for internal and external auditors
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Update policies and procedures, as appropriate.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.  
  • Two to four years of general accounting experience, including fixed asset accounting experience.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills utilizing v-lookups and pivot tables.  
  • SAP and SharePoint experience a plus. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.  
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills necessary for collaborative interaction with Corporate and division personnel
  • Positive team-player attitude, willingness to embrace change and highly self-motivated
