Accountant ($80,500.00 - $97,600.00)

Position Summary:

The Corporate Accountant will be primarily responsible for ensuring assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with the monthly close calendar. Assigned responsibilities include the processing, validation and analysis of fixed assets for the Office, Apartment, Retail, Resorts and Corporate divisions. This position is subject to tight deadlines and multitude of accounting activities including analysis, month end reconciliations and reviews, participation in special projects, system enhancements, process improvements and interim and year-end audit.

Job Duties:

• Review Office, Apartment, Retail and Resort division asset submission reports to ensure information to be processed is in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Process and maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger, including acquisitions, additions, adjustments, master data change, transfers, disposition and monthly depreciation. 
• Review expense general ledger account coding of invoices for capitalization policy compliance and process reclassification entries, as needed.
• Assist with fixed asset system month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Run asset balance reports and coordinate distribution to all division contacts. Update transfer list.
• Initiate monthly/quarterly Division and Corporate tasks in SharePoint.
• Update templates for submissions, abandonments, transfers and FA working files.
• Perform monthly reconciliations as it relates to fixed assets.
• Assist with preparation of audit schedules for internal and external auditors
• Update Policies and Procedures accordingly.
• Assist with unclaimed property reporting.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as requested.  

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Two to four years of general accounting experience with progressively increased responsibility.
• Strong spreadsheet skills utilizing v-lookups and pivot tables. SAP experience is a plus. 
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills. Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Positive team-player attitude, willingness to embrace change and highly self-motivated.  
• Articulate in a professional manner with the verbal and written communication skills necessary for collaborative interaction with Corporate and operating division personnel.
