Position Summary:

Provide support for design and construction management. Entails gathering information, evaluating information and determining what action is required, passing the information on to appropriate staff or consultant, documenting the process. This task requires meetings outside of the office with agencies, consultants, or builders to resolve issues.

Job Duties:

  • Track and monitor schedules. (Follow up on deadlines and submittals, update project schedules)
  • Compile project cost estimates. Obtain estimates from various consultants. Review information and input into company format.
  • Review invoices for agency submittals and request checks. Work includes coding check requests.
  • Coordinate design information with agencies and consultants. Attend outside meeting with agencies and consultants to coordinate information.
  • Manage consultants to achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare consultant RFPs, agency approval letters, and contracts.
  • Process and review (under direction) agreements with agencies and utilities.
  • File, process, and obtain construction permits at various agencies.
  • Prepare and process change orders and contracts.
  • Develop and provide solutions based on input from consultants and internal staff.
  • Track and update active bonds.
  • Provide back up support to administrative staff during vacations and peak periods of work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5+ years of related engineering or project management experience.
  • Taken college level courses in engineering / project management.
  • Must be organized, reliable, self motivated, team player, courteous, and patient.
  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, Google experience a plus.
  • Valid California Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, and valid vehicle insurance. Must be able to travel to agencies, consultants, and job site.
