Position Summary:

The Business Continuity Manager is responsible to lead, implement and manage all aspects of business continuity in coordination with each business unit. Responsibilities include coordinating and partnering with IT on disaster recovery efforts.

Job Duties:

 

Business Continuity Management

  • Drive Business Continuity Management
  • Working with business units and corporate support groups to:
  • Update Business Impact and Dependency Analysis
  • Update Business Continuity Plans including updating/creating workarounds
  • Update Emergency Response Plans
  • Lead and Manage Business Continuity Plan Testing
  • Participate in Business Continuity Committees
  • Coordinate with Corporate Security on emergency communications
  • Manage Business Continuity Training
  • Provide quarterly updates to Executive Business Continuity Committee
  • Support impacted functions during Business Continuity Event
  • Liaison with public emergency management teams
  • Review/coordinate Business Continuity Management efforts with third-party managers (IL, NY)

 

IT Disaster Recovery (“DR”)

  • Ensure DR alignment with business priorities
  • Update IT Business Impact and Technology Dependency Analysis (including RTO & RPO)
  • Liaison between key stakeholders including IT, Operations, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Legal, Executive Team
  • Participate with IT in establishing DR test schedule, scenarios and methodologies
  • Assess with IT Business Continuity and DR impact of new applications being considered and/or implemented
  • Ensure Policy and DR plan are regularly updated
  • Update/create workarounds where necessary

 

Other

  • Support Corporate Safety as needed
  • Coordinate Risk Management’s involvement with Corporate Security
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5-7 years relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of Business Continuity Management
  • Strong knowledge of IT DR
  • Knowledge of ISO 22301 and/or BS 25999 a plus
  • CBCP or equivalent certifications preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to influence multiple groups
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of ISO 22301 and/or BS 25999 a plus
  • CBCP or equivalent certifications preferred.
