Position Summary:

The Investment Associate position is part of the Company’s fast-paced Investment Division.  Responsibilities will include serving as the primary point of contact for investment operations including trade processing, account administration, and compliance; interfacing with portfolio accounting and reporting systems; performing general market research; assisting with equity and fixed income analysis; and performing various administrative duties as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the daily point of contact with custodians and brokers for all operational matters
  • Ensure timely and accurate trade processing and reporting
  • Maintain investment guidelines, account authorization, and compliance checklists
  • Perform general market research
  • Assist in equity and fixed income valuation and analysis
  • Assist in preparation of materials and exhibits for senior management meetings
  • Perform various administrative duties as necessary

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate with Treasury to process trades, and with Accounting, Tax, Security Administration, Internal Audit, and third parties to ensure proper controls are met
  • Prepare investment account opening documents and instruction letters  
  • Maintain, update, and circulate investment guidelines and account authorization as required
  • Monitor weekly/quarterly compliance to investment guidelines and legal requirements
  • Work with custodians, brokers, and Accounting to reconcile daily cash balances
  • Utilize portfolio accounting and reporting systems to ensure trades, wires, market pricing data, corporate actions, and other transactions are complete and accurate
  • Summarize Wall Street analyst reports, conference calls, and presentations
  • Serve as backup to the Executive Assistant to the CIO as needed; responsibilities include: maintaining team calendars, coordinating meetings & meals, preparing expense reports, ordering office supplies, and printing, scanning, and faxing documents upon request

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Prior work experience in investments helpful
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, solves problems independently and able to meet firm deadlines
  • Strong writing and communications skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and constructively collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly dependable with utmost integrity and the ability to protect confidential information
  • Ability to focus on work and avoid distractions
  • Flexibility to work hours/schedule as needed
