Position Summary:

Coordinate and manage the design of interior projects for Irvine Company Office Properties development and re-investment projects.

Job Duties:

  • Project Design Lead- coordinates project vision, design, scope & implementation.  Strong ability to lead vendors and communication with IC internal teams. Strategize and assist with project delivery and presentation.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines. Focus will be on projects for workplace amenities, (including conferencing, fitness, and retail food & beverage) and commercial office interiors.
  • Collaborate with IC internal teams for project goals and design direction. Represent ICOP's interests through the design and construction process with design consultants. Ensure deadlines are met.
  • Strong current knowledge of commercial and retail furniture, finishes and equipment.  Coordinate furniture proposals, contracts, review submittals, track orders, payment and delivery. Be a knowledge expert for product options, budgetary restrictions, and materials for furnishings. 
  • Review architectural design documents and specifications for constructability and design intent. Coordinate the review and/or execution of project submittals, shop drawings, and RFI's for project design conformance.
  • Support Directors by coordinating finish palettes and FF&E. Prepare furniture and finish concepts.
  • Implement on-site field coordination on a project-by-project basis, interfacing with all members of the project team. Attend project meetings, punch walks and follow up on project completion.
  • Respond to daily requests from Operations team (approvals of security/ card readers, customer film, signage, &  FF&E requests)
  • Take the success of every project in the department personally.
  • Professional and friendly verbal and written communication aptitude with internal and external customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability.

Systems Utilized:

Systems utilized: Knowledge of Adobe Suite,  CAD, REVIT, Google Docs and Sheets, and Bluebeam software beneficial.

  • ICOP – Office Planning & Design, Development, Leasing, Operations, Marketing, and Construction


External: (By telephone, mail, and in person)

  • All external design firms, specialty consultants, suppliers/vendors, fabricators, contractors, etc.

General Requirements:

Work experience and knowledge from working directly on Corporate Interior Design and Hospitality projects. Demonstrate initiative, personal awareness, professionalism, positive attitude, and integrity; exercise a high quality of customer service and leadership in all areas of performance.  Project a professional image and demeanor.  Understand, apply, and comply with all company policies and procedures.

Supervisory/Management/Leadership Responsibilities:

Senior Manager, Interior Architecture, will be responsible for the proper management and execution of assigned interior projects related to workplace amenities, retail, and commercial office interiors.

Problem Solving:

Senior Manager, Interior Architecture, will collaborate with the OP&D team to jointly review project issues and status. Knowledge and strategic understanding of current workplace and hospitality design is essential to this role. 

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Undergraduate degree in interior design and/or architecture.
  • 8 to 10+ years working experience.
  • Strong communication and management skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative, personal awareness, professionalism, positive attitude and a high level of integrity.
  • Knowledge of graphic programs a plus.
  • Licensed interior architect preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, SketchUp, MS Office Suite, Adobe and Bluebeam.  Google Suite experience a plus.
