Position Summary:

The Sr. HR Business Partner provides strategic support to the Apartments Division’s Revenue Management/Marketing and Community Management organizations. The HR Business Partner will report to the Vice President of HR for the Apartment Operations Division, and will be responsible for providing human resources support and guidance to senior leaders and associates enabling them to accomplish their business objectives. He/she will act as a trusted advisor and coach and will be proactive in working with them to maximize engagement, retention, and performance. The HR Business Partner will be responsible for leadership coaching, employee relations/investigations, organizational development and design, facilitation, and talent management practices. 

Job Duties:
  • Partner with executives in Revenue Management/Marketing and Community Management groups to develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy.
  • Lead the organization with its focus on employee engagement.  
  • Advise business leaders on effective talent management and succession planning, and lead the talent assessment efforts for client groups.
  • Facilitate team and leadership development sessions.
  • Lead HR projects that provide impact to the business.
  • Ensure appropriate corporate governance and compliance.  Respond to issues and advise leaders on compliance and employment law.
  • Continue to enhance HR policies, standards and services.
  • Collaborate with HR centers of expertise (Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Comp/Benefits, HR Operations, Compliance) for service delivery to clients.
  • Create active dialog, coaching and feedback, and provide solutions to business leaders.
  • Responsible for roll out and oversight of HR programs and processes such as compensation planning, incentive and compensation program implementations, goal planning, career development, engagement survey planning, etc.
  • Ensure effective employee relations support, including conducting internal investigations.  Ensure timely and appropriate response to all employee relations issues.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • 7+  years of  HR Business Partner experience 
  • Experience in major HR technical areas, particularly HR operations, learning and development, talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, performance management and employee engagement.
  • Experience conducting employee relations investigations.
  • Ability to drive and facilitate organizational change.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills. 
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to facilitate effective working relationships.
  • Hands-on, approachable communicator who enjoys spending time with key stakeholders, colleagues and team members. 
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong project management skills with experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
