Position Summary:

Irvine Company Office Properties seeks a visionary leader with a track-record of spearheading the growth of new ventures within a traditional large enterprise environment. 


The successful candidate will oversee the long-term success of Irvine Company’s new flexible workspace offering, shaping and executing growth and partnership strategies. S/he will be directly accountable for growing top-line revenue of this new business line with a focus on achieving profit targets. 


The ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without authority while executing across multiple work streams is critical in this role. By driving the team toward goals of revenue generation, square foot expansion, and operational efficiency,  this role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the solution of choice for companies seeking private, customized, move-in ready workspace with lease terms tailored to their business’ needs. 


Job Duties:

P&L OWNERSHIP: Serve as full owner of the flexible workspace P&L and successfully manage financial results toward achieving revenue, profitability, and cash flow targets.


GROWTH STRATEGY: Develop and execute against a comprehensive growth strategy including marketing, sales enablement, and operational tactics to maximize leasing velocity, build a robust pipeline of qualified prospects, and expand square footage of flexible workspace offering.

PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Identify, evaluate, and activate value-added vendor relationships to efficiently deliver fast move-in, fully-built, furnished, IT-connected workspaces. Maximize deal-flow from the brokerage community while driving awareness through marketing and communications efforts, relevant partnerships (incubators, professional organizations) and other business leaders/influencers.


OPERATIONS: Maintain Irvine Company brand standards and commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout the flexible workspace customer lifecycle. Balance both strategic and day-to-day responsibilities.


CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION: Build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders. Take ownership for projects from end-to-end, coordinating closely with Leasing, Design & Construction, Operations, Legal, and other teams.


FLEXIBILITY: Ability to take on additional duties and react to shifting priorities.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven experience scaling a new business and directly managing a P&L while ensuring operational efficiency 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including strong executive presentation skills 
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities 
  • Proven ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen, ability to simplify complex data into executive-ready insights 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to balance strategic and creative thinking with a bias for action
  • Proven ability to manage across groups in a highly-matrixed, fast paced, consensus-driven environment
  • Working knowledge of Google Apps (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar and Drive) & Salesforce, and high comfort level with technology
  • Startup experience preferred 
  • Real estate experience a plus
