Position Summary:

The Director of Networking and IoT plays a critical role ensuring the reliability, security and performance of our data communication systems. This includes our corporate local and wide area networks, along with in-building networks for cellular enhancements and operational technologies. The Director also partners with the various business units to develop a strategic approach to IoT and the road maps to deliver on objectives. The right person will have deep networking experience, familiarity with IoT/OpTech and a proven track record developing and executing strategic plans.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure the reliability and performance of the corporate and IoT networks.
  • Develop and lead the overall roadmap and strategic vision for networking and IoT. Ensure the product strategies and goals are in alignment with various IT and business division objectives.
  • Publish KPIs with trending information. Provide insights and recommendations. 
  • Lead problem solving discussions with technology and various cross-functional team members, focusing on root cause and operational excellence.
  • Work closely with IT security to assess and mitigate potential risks. 
  • Partner closely with the business divisions in ideation and delivery of IoT solutions.
  • Interface with application teams to ensure the appropriate level of network access is assigned to all applications.
  • Work with development teams on basis-of-design documentation to ensure technology needs are addressed during construction.
  • Create and drive product evangelism both externally and across internal stakeholder organizations.
  • Provide functional and technical requirements for Product Design, Evolution, Construction, and implementation.
  • Be the subject matter expert for all platforms around IoT connectivity.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and evaluate for potential business use.
  • Serve as an inspiring leader in IoT and Digital domains, understand the competitive landscape and maintain active engagement in the external community of vendors and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technology field.
  • Experience with Ruckus, Google (GCP and G-Suite), Palo Alto, Aruba Clearpass, RingCentral, Cisco and Contact Centers. Former Network and Cloud Architect or Engineer experience a plus.
  • Exceptional understanding of ITIL frameworks and lean principles.
  • Experience with creating and executing network disaster recovery plans.
  • Experience with managing Carrier relationships and negotiating Carrier contracts.
  • Experience managing Telecom Expense Management providers and auditing Carrier spend.
  • Experience in the following IoT technical areas including Zigbee, MQTT, WiFi, Z-Wave, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, NFC, Advanced Messaging Queue Protocol, Constrained Application Protocol, Data Distribution Service, Sigfox, and LoRaWAN Extensive IoT Industry experience including product management and or software engineering experience. 
  • Experience working with APIs in various technology environments
  • Experience in building and delivering successful enterprise level business solutions.
  • Must be a self-starter and have a disposition to work independently with a commitment to detail in an organized manner.
  • Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent facilitator and moderator can bridge the gap between technology and product across all levels of the organization.
  • Thought leader that identifies opportunities for innovation and engagement for merchants and work with product management team to document, evangelize, implement and capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Seasoned professional with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in a well-disciplined organization where best practices are integral to the management of the business.
  • Superior creative problem solving skills, ability to drive complex financial modeling and analysis to quantify impact of investments and explain viability of new business models.
  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships and communicate effectively with executive management.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized to ensure accuracy and quality of output.
  • Outstanding operational and people management skills.
  • Strong bias for action and ability to proactively recognize and resolve issues.
