Job Duties:
  • Anticipate, listen and execute on the needs of our guests at all times.
  • Be familiar with tray service, as well as hand service methods of serving.
  • Knowledgeable and confident in wine service and decanting.
  • Provide a high level of service and enthusiasm when presenting food and beverage items.
  • Carrying multiple cocktails on a service tray with ease and finesse.
  • Be knowledgeable and communicate food and beverage items offered, including ingredients and methods of preparation to customers.
  • Appearance must be crisp and all related tools such as, pens, wine openers, order pads must be carried on self at all times.  Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, abide by uniform guidelines and maintain a high level of hygiene at all times.
  • Ensure the bar is fully set up for success on every shift and provide constant backing up of all bartenders.
  • Demonstrate thoughtfulness in service and create a “long lasting” experience with all guests, by being present, listening and providing prompt delivery of all food and beverage needs.
  • Possess a complete understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage offerings.
  • Participate in all training(s) required by the management to ensure product knowledge.
  • Stay up to date with the trends, offerings and the happenings in the industry.
  • Be familiar with the hotel and the surrounding locations so you can direct our guests with any directions they may need.
  • Use point of sale MICROS equipment efficiently.  Follow correct cash and credit card handling procedures.
  • Control usage of all food and beverage items and appropriate usage of equipment, tools and service equipment.  Observe daily conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the restaurant.  Make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards maintained for guests and employees.  Ensure that all aspects of the restaurant are visually appealing and attractive to guests.
  • Attend and contribute to staff and departmental briefings, meetings, and hotel training as scheduled.  Keep up to date with departmental bulletin board and daily briefing sheet in order to remain current on information reading the day's business.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned.
     
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
  • Minimum of two years of cocktailing/bartending experience.
  • Comply with all ABC rules and regulations.
  • Be present at peak rush hours and lead by example.
  • Possess excellent communication, leadership, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong technical skills (computer, POS, billing, reports, MS Office, etc.)
  • Valid Serve Safe, CA food handlers card required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • TIPS trained.
