Position Summary:

Ensure the bar is well stocked with glassware, beverages and related items; changes kegs when required. Pick up empty glasses and bottles from the bar area, wipes down bar tops, and restocks garnishes, mixes, liquor, mixes ice, and cleaning clothes at each bartender’s station.  Maintain inventory levels of all bar items.  Complete requisitions for product as needed.  Ensure responsibilities are performed and maintain a professional appearance and friendly attitude toward guests, other employees and management staff. 

Job Duties:

  • Assist in creating all cocktails and beverages as ordered and in compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure the bar is fully set up for success on every shift and provide constant backing up of all bartenders.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures on a daily basis.
  • Complete understanding and knowledge of the floor plan.
  • Demonstrate thoughtfulness in service and create a memorable impression on all guests, by being present, listening and providing prompt delivery of all food and beverage needs.
  • Possess a complete understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage offerings.
  • Participate in all training(s) required by the management to ensure product knowledge.
  • Recognize any problems resulting from guest complaints, intoxication or disruptive behavior; notify manager immediately.
  • Stay up to date with the trends, offerings and the happenings in the industry.
  • Learn upselling techniques put forth by management to better help the bartenders and serving staff.
  • Use point of sale (e.g., MICROS) equipment efficiently. Follow correct cash and check handling procedures.
  • Control usage of all food and beverage items and appropriate usage of equipment, tools and service equipment. Observe daily conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the restaurant. Make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards maintained for guests and employees. Ensure that all aspects of the restaurant are visually appealing and attractive to guests.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, abide by uniform guidelines, and maintain a high level of hygiene at all times.
  • Attend and contribute to staff and departmental briefings, meetings, and hotel/resort training as scheduled.
  • Keep up to date with departmental bulletin board and daily briefing sheet in order to remain current on information by reading the daily events.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

One year of customer service experience.

Ability to comply with all ABC rules and regulations.

Possess excellent communication, leadership, organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Strong technical skills (computer, POS, billing, reports, MS Office, etc.)

Valid Serve Safe, CA food handlers’ card required.

TIPs certification after employment.

Ability work a variable schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
